Dept CGS tells officers to stop going to all male clubs
You can’t make this up: the Deputy CGS (read: one of the most important people in Defence) spent his time last week sending an adorable letter to officers across the Forces, asking them to ensure their people urgently review memberships to male-only clubs. Yep, that’s right. We’ve got war in Ukraine, we’ve got terrorism on our streets, we’ve got soldiers deployed every minute of every day - and the big thing on the agenda is…an urgent review of club memberships.
Bet our adversaries are bricking it.

Military gap years might be coming back
Enough of this. Get in the Army.
To help plug the recruitment gap, the government has pledged to bring back military gap years before 2029. Rather than finding yourself at some tragic full moon party in Thailand or getting off your tits on shrooms, you can actually do something useful. We’re all for it - but don’t stop there: bring back National Service and stop mucking about.
When asked for specifics, Defence Secretary John Healey said, “We’re working on details now.”
Ex-Prince Andrew to keep war medals
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will be allowed to keep his military medals, including those from the Falklands War, despite being stripped of the last of his military titles. Irrespective of what Andrew has done since leaving the RAF, he did serve for 22 years and legitimately earned those medals - and the veteran community agrees.

THIS WEEK IN HISTORY
Big events from the past, covered in brief and probably inaccurately.
11th November 1918: Armistice Day
At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them.
At 11am on 11 November 1918, the guns fell silent and the Armistice between the Allied powers and Germany came into effect, bringing an end to fighting on the Western Front after more than four years of war.
Signed in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiègne, the agreement marked the collapse of the German war effort and the beginning of the end for the Central Powers. What followed was a period of uneasy peace, political upheaval and the redrawing of borders across Europe.
While Armistice Day is (rightfully) a time of remembrance, its origins lie in pure exhaustion - armies, economies, literal countries pushed to their absolute limit by industrial-scale warfare never before seen on earth until that point.

DCGS reviewing Golf as military sport after hearing term “handicap” is still in use
SHOREDITCH - The DCGS has apparently sent a strongly worded letter to The Guardian, waging war on golf clubs. Sources say he has taken particular umbrage at the fact that the term “handicap” is still in use and has ordered all soldiers to urgently review their associations with the sport. When reached out to for comment, the DCGS was unavailable, reportedly attending an away day entitled: “How to Survive When Children Are Mean to You.”
The MOD declined to comment.
